Hungarian Turkey Stew



1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 medium onion, chopped

1 large yellow pepper, cut in ½ inch pieces

1 cup cut green beans

1 tablespoon paprika

2 cans (14 ½ oz) diced tomatoes

1 ½ teaspoons GravyMaster®

1 can (14 ½ fl oz) chicken broth

2 cups diced cooked turkey



2 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon caraway seeds

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup milk



1)      In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat oil. Add the onion, pepper and green beans and cook 5 minutes.  Add the paprika and cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.

2)      Stir in tomatoes, GravyMaster®, broth, and turkey. Cover and simmer over medium low heat for 30 minutes.

3)      Meanwhile, for the dumplings, in a medium bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, caraway seeds and salt.  Slowly add the milk to make a soft dough.

4)      Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the simmering stew.  Cook, covered for 15 minutes.
